More About My Specialties

“[Parenthood] is an emotional roller coaster, and it’s okay not to be okay. It’s important to remember that you are not alone, and that reaching out for help is a sign of strength, not failure.”
– Brene BrownBecoming a parent looks different for everyone, but a common thread is that this is a time of significant change, vulnerability, and intensity.
Mental health issues like anxiety, depression, OCD, traumatic births, fertility challenges, grief, and loss are incredibly common and no one should have to face them alone.
I have advanced training in Perinatal Mental Health Psychotherapy from Postpartum Support International & I use evidence-based interventions—including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, EMDR, and Emotionally Focused Therapy —tailored to your specific needs.
My goal is to support you through this chapter of life and help you get to the other side of any part of it that is challenging with greater clarity, resilience, and trust in yourself and your community.

“Trauma is not just an event that happened long ago; it is also the way that event has become internalized in the body and mind.”
– Gabor MatéTrauma has the power to impact every part of your life—your understanding of the world, your sense of self, your sense of safety, trust, how you function in relationships. Trauma isn’t just something that lives in our minds; it is often stored and held in our body.
In therapy, I’ll help you understand how your trauma has impacted your thoughts, emotions, and overall well-being, and we’ll work to address how it shows up in your body.
We’ll use EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) to help process distressing memories, and somatic techniques to release stored tension and regulate your physical response to stress. We’ll challenge unhelpful beliefs and replace them with more adaptive ways of thinking and functioning.
Throughout our work, we’ll create a safe space where all the intense emotions tied to your trauma can be expressed without becoming too overwhelming to tolerate.
My goal is to help you integrate the trauma into your story, allowing it to become part of your past, not your entire story. I want to help you reclaim your life and use your strengths and resilience to support lasting healing.

“Grief has no distance. Grief comes in waves, paroxysms, sudden apprehensions that weaken the knees and blind the eyes and obliterate the dailiness of life.” - Joan Didion
Grief is cyclical— Some days, it’s tolerable and even strengthens us; other days, it feels impossibly overwhelming. I’m here to support you through both, holding space for all of your emotions, no matter how big or intense. Together, we’ll explore coping strategies and find ways to adjust to your new normal after loss.
Whether you are dealing with the death of a loved one or coping with another type of significant loss (loss of a relationship, job, or other major life changes), I am here to help you find a way through.
Using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and talk therapy, we’ll work through your grief, challenge negative beliefs, and process the story of your loss in a way that utilizes your resilience and strength to foster healing.

Our culture is obsessed with weight, shape, and body size, and the constant stream of unhealthy conversations about our bodies can make it difficult to recognize when your relationship with food, exercise, or body image has crossed a line.
Whether you are struggling with an eating disorder or experiencing anxiety due to a negative relationship with your body image - I want to provide you with support. You deserve a life where you spend less time and energy on your diet, weight, or overall appearance and more time being present with yourself, your community, & your experiences.
Eating disorders are complex and involve biological, genetic, social, psychological, and developmental factors. They are deeply personal and influenced by those closest to us, as well as broader societal pressures.
My goal is to work with you to identify the underlying factors that fuel your disordered eating and negative body image, and together, we will develop supports and coping strategies to address the behaviors that are potentially creating chaos, isolation, and disconnection in your life.
I’ll help you regulate your emotions and navigate the painful feelings that often accompany this challenging work. I integrate EMDR, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) to address the psychological, emotional, and somatic aspects of eating disorders. Additionally, I use body neutrality, intuitive eating, and mindful movement skills to support healing and foster a healthier relationship with your body.
Throughout this process, I will help you reclaim a sense of balance and peace in your life and your body.

Our thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are closely connected. When a negative thought arises, it triggers emotional and physical responses that can quickly lead to intense feelings of anxiety and/or depression. I have extensive experience supporting individuals through these uncomfortable emotions and helping you break free from these cycles.
Using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and mindfulness, we'll identify and challenge limiting beliefs or coping mechanisms, replacing them with healthier, adaptive thoughts. We’ll identify patterns that are getting in your way and work to replace them with intentional coping strategies. We’ll make space for you to process these emotions, validate your experience, and identify supports so that you can feel better and improve your daily functioning.

“Love is a many-splendored thing, but it is also a many-anguished thing.”
– Tennessee Williams, A Streetcar Named DesireWhether you're struggling with communication, emotional disconnection, or conflict or you’re looking to strengthen your relationship, couples and family therapy can help you build stronger, healthier relationships and heal from past hurt or conflict.
In therapy, we’ll explore how Attachment Theory shapes the way you connect with the people in your life. By understanding these deeper emotional bonds, we can identify patterns that may be keeping you stuck and work towards healing and creating more secure, supportive connections.
I utilize Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), to focus on fostering emotional safety and enhancing communication. We’ll work on identifying negative cycles in your relationship and replace them with more effective methods and behaviors that strengthen trust and intimacy.
I also use Relational Therapy to help you improve how you relate to and understand each other, resolve conflicts, and deepen emotional intimacy, with open and honest communication and compassionate accountability.
Together, we’ll work to restore emotional connection, improve communication, and create lasting change in your relationships.
